Position Overview

RecruitGo is looking for a dedicated Bookkeeping Supervisor to lead a team of bookkeepers and ensure the accuracy and quality of financial services delivered to our clients. This role is responsible for overseeing daily bookkeeping operations, ensuring timely reconciliations, accurate data entry, and smooth payroll processing.

You’ll play a key role in preparing monthly management reports, reviewing activity statements, and supporting year-end reconciliations. As the team’s first point of contact for escalations, you’ll help resolve issues, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment. The role also involves supporting new hire onboarding, monitoring team performance, and maintaining compliance with both internal standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the daily activities and performance of assigned bookkeepers.
  • Ensure accurate financial data entry, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  • Review activity statements and assist with year-end reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and account reconciliations.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for team or client issues and provide effective resolutions.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of new team members.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, policies, and client requirements.
  • Monitor team attendance, leave usage, and workload distribution.
  • Report team updates, challenges, and progress to the Assistant Manager or Manager.
 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience (preferably with Australian clients).
  • At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or senior bookkeeping role.
  • Strong knowledge of Xero and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
 

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Xero Ecosystem apps such as Dext, Deputy, and Lightspeed.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven leadership skills and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
