Position Overview

RecruitGo is seeking an AU Tax Accountant, who’ll work across a broad range of clients, providing tax compliance, financial reporting, and business advisory services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing experience or a keen interest in Australian tax. You'll be part of a friendly, fast-paced team that values collaboration, professional development, and long-term growth.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, and individual businesses in line with the latest Australian tax rules.
• Compile financial statements and workpapers, identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, and proactively suggest improvements to client records.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, superannuation reports, trust resolutions, dividend statements, ASIC annual reports, and TPARs.
• Support clients with tax planning, forecasting, and calculations related to trust distributions and super contributions.
• Assist clients with Xero: review files, correct errors, provide technical advice, and help set up bank feeds, payroll, and auto-super.
• Manage workflow to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of work.

Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting or a related field.
• CA/CPA qualified or currently undertaking.
• At least 1 year of accounting and taxation experience.
• Experience in Australian tax is highly regarded, or a strong willingness to learn and develop expertise in this area.
• Working knowledge of Xero is preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and self-motivation.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and work independently.
