Senior App Store Optimization (ASO) Specialist
RecruitGo is hiring on behalf of our client in language app platform industry.
Position Overview
Drive exceptional app visibility and growth through data-driven ASO strategies while leading optimization initiatives for our portfolio of 2 App Store and 40+ Play Store applications. Partner with cross-functional teams to maximize app performance metrics and contribute to the company's overall mobile growth strategy.
Responsibilities:
ASO Strategy Development and Execution
- Create and implement data-driven ASO strategies to improve app rankings and visibility.
- Develop a roadmap for achieving organic growth objectives, including a 15% increase in organic downloads within three months.
- Test and refine strategies using A/B testing and performance analysis.
Keyword Research and Optimization
- Perform advanced keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth.
- Optimize app metadata (titles, descriptions, keywords, etc.) for target keywords across app stores.
- Monitor and refine keywords to ensure alignment with trends and user search behavior.
App Listing Management
- Manage and update app store listings, ensuring brand consistency and localization quality for all territories and languages.
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize creative assets, including screenshots, videos, and app icons.
- Optimize release notes to highlight key features and updates.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis
- Analyze app store metrics such as impressions, downloads, conversion rates, and rankings.
- Generate detailed monthly performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Monitor competitor performance and market trends to identify new opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, marketing, and development teams to align ASO strategies with business goals.
- Provide feedback to developers on app performance and release cycles to optimize store rankings.
- Support localization efforts by collaborating with linguists and regional teams.
Competitor and Market Research
- Conduct regular competitor analyses to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
- Stay updated on app store algorithm changes and market trends to adapt strategies.
- Research customer preferences and behaviors to refine ASO efforts.
Creative Asset Optimization
- Test and optimize app store creatives, including screenshots, feature graphics, and videos.
- Conduct A/B tests for creative elements to maximize conversion rates.
- Ensure all assets adhere to app store guidelines and maintain brand standards.
Apple Search Ads Management
- Plan and launch new ASA campaigns regularly
- Monitor existing campaigns and optimize performance
- Follow up with ASO marketers on their ASA campaign performance
Tool Utilization and Data Analysis
- Leverage ASO tools like App Tweak or similar and App Annie to gather data and insights.
- Use analytics platforms and tools (e.g., App Store Connect, Google Play Console) for performance tracking.
- Apply SQL or other data querying methods for deeper data analysis when needed.
Dashboard Creation & Maintenance
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive dashboard to consolidate ASO performance metrics across regions and tools
- Ensure data accuracy and regular updates of all dashboard components
- Create visualizations that effectively communicate key metrics to stakeholders
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of ASO efforts, including methodologies, tests, and outcomes.
- Provide stakeholders with regular updates on ASO initiatives and results.
- Prepare detailed presentations to communicate key insights and strategies.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices for ASO.
- Lead ASO-related training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Represent ASO expertise in cross-departmental meetings and projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in ASO or mobile app marketing
- Demonstrated success in improving app store performance metrics
- Experience managing app store presence for apps with 1M+ downloads
- Proven track record of implementing successful ASO strategies
- Strong portfolio of optimization cases and results
- Experience with international markets and localization
- Advanced knowledge of mobile app marketing landscape
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Expert proficiency in App Tweak and its full suite of features, including native reporting tools
- Advanced understanding of app store algorithms and ranking factors
- Strong experience with A/B testing methodologies for app store listings
- Proven track record in keyword research and optimization
- Advanced knowledge of app store guidelines and best practices
- Expertise in metadata optimization and localization strategies
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting ASO metrics
- Experience in creating and optimizing app store creative assets
- Strong understanding of mobile app analytics platforms
- Knowledge of mobile app development lifecycle including:
- App store design guidelines and asset requirements
- Understanding of app store review processes
- Beta testing programs (TestFlight/Google Play Beta)
- Version update requirements and their impact on ASO
- Release notes optimization
- Understanding how app performance and updates affect store rankings
- Experience with app store A/B testing tools and methodologies
